Strategy
To keep U.S.-grown rice top-of-mind among school nutrition professionals, we implemented a multifaceted strategy rooted in targeted engagement, resource development and strategic partnerships. By activating a dedicated network of chefs (Chef Advisory Board) to inform policy discussions and resource creation, USA Rice ensures its initiatives are supported by real-world foodservice insights.
Additionally, we foster relationships with school nutrition professionals through annual webinars focused on trending topics in the school nutrition space, such as expanding breakfast offerings and reducing added sugar with U.S.-grown rice. Most recently, USA Rice organized a recipe contest during National School Breakfast Week to encourage innovative, rice-based breakfast ideas. Partnerships with key professional organizations have also played a critical role in amplifying these efforts, expanding the reach of USA Rice’s messaging and resources, and driving consistent growth of the Schools Think Rice newsletter subscriber base.
Results
The campaign reaches tens of thousands of school nutrition professionals annually through our targeted activities, generating above average click-through rates and attendance of webinars. Additionally, the Chef Advisory Board produced Reimagined Rice Meals for Schools, allowing our target audiences to enhance their school nutrition programs with U.S.-grown rice.
